Pebble – Pumice Lava

Pebble - Pumice Lava is a naturally formed andesitic stone created from volcanic scoria during regular eruptions. Its highly porous structure with open air pockets makes each pebble lightweight yet strong, with high permeability and excellent resistance to fungi. When wet, the stone deepens into a rich, beautiful black tone. Ideal for water features and decorative cladding.

Material & Design Details

Pebble – Pumice Lava is formed during regular volcanic eruptions, when ash and scoria are expelled from the mountain and flow down its slopes. As this hot material cools rapidly, it traps air within its structure, creating numerous open pores throughout each pebble.

With its andesitic composition rich in ferro-magnesium crystals and traces of sulfur, the stone is naturally hard and durable while maintaining high porosity and permeability. This unique combination allows water to pass through easily, yet helps resist fungal growth even in wet conditions.

When dry, the pebble displays a natural charcoal-grey tone. Once wet, it transforms into a deep, elegant black, enhancing its visual appeal in landscaping designs. Although it can absorb heat under full sun, the air trapped within its porous structure helps prevent extreme surface temperatures.
