Basalt formed as a volcanic derived stone, resulting from geo-tectonic action with oceanic plates subsiding under continental plates. Depending on the feldspar crystals formed it’s called a basalt or andesite. Both materials formed at high temperatures and pressure are very resistant to all kinds of pollution and normally self cleaning in full sunlight.
